Improving Traffic Load Distribution Fairness in Mobile Social Networks

نویسندگان

چکیده

Mobile social networks suffer from an unbalanced traffic load distribution due to the heterogeneity in mobility of nodes (humans) network. A few these are highly mobile, and proposed social-based routing algorithms likely choose most “social” as best message relays. Finally, this could lead inequitable resource utilisation, such faster battery drain and/or storage consumption (socially) popular nodes. We propose a framework called Traffic Load Distribution Aware (TraLDA) improve balancing across network present novel method for calculating node popularity which takes into account both inherent social-relations popularity. The former is purely determined by node’s sociability level network, TraLDA computed using Kalman prediction considers periodicity behaviour. However, latter benefit interactions with more neighbours (acquaintances) boost lower (social) Using extensive simulations Opportunistic Network Environment (ONE) driven real human scenarios, we show that our strategy enhances fairness classical, yet social-aware BubbleRap SimBet without negatively impacting overall delivery performance.

Traffic Load Distribution in Ad Hoc Networks through Mobile Internet Gateways

Ad hoc networks were initially conceived as stand-alone entities without connection to any external infrastructure. A possible solution to give access to ad hoc terminals to the Internet trough conventional WLAN networks is described in the mobile multi-gateway support. This scheme proposes to utilize a mobile node within the transmission range of the WLAN access point as a connecting gateway b...

Fairness in cellular mobile networks

Channel allocation algorithms for channelized cellular systems are discussed from a new perspective, viz., fairness of allocation. The concepts of relative and absolute fairness are introduced and discussed. It will be shown that under certain reasonable assumptions, there exists an absolute (max-min) fair carried traffic intensity vector (a vector describing the traffic carried in the cells of...

QoS routing with traffic distribution in mobile ad hoc networks

Mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) follow a unique organizational and behavioral logic. MANETs’ characteristics such as their dynamic topology coupled with the characteristics of the wireless communicationmedium make Quality of Service provisioning a difficult challenge. This paper presents a new approach based on a mobile routing backbone for supporting Quality of Service (QoS) in MANETs. In real...

Improving fairness in optical-burst-switching networks

Approaches for dealing with the beat-down unfairness problem have been mainly limited to electronic packet-switching networks. We investigate two methods for alleviating this problem in optical-burst-switching (OBS) networks. When OBS is used with just-in-time or just-enough-time scheduling, the control packet transmitted ahead of the data burst may fail to secure a free channel, causing the da...
